Mozilla/Firefox developed the Midori core, a fantastic kernel and excellent foundation for developing a web browser alternative to Chromium. However, we don’t want to depend on Mozilla; we don’t want almost omnipresent telemetry throughout the kernel. It’s no secret that Gecko/Firefox has increasingly invasive telemetry, and although their solutions use end-to-end encryption, telemetry is present before that. For this reason, we decided to launch our own sync service called Midori Sync, which uses an Astian accounts.

This is a completely open-source service applicable to any browser based on Gecko/Firefox, and it can be an initiative for other Gecko-based browsers to contribute to its improvement and adaptation.
